Riomaggiore guided tours

Cinque Terre, a paradise between sky, land and sea

A unique territory in the world, Unesco Heritage. A paradise between sea, earth and sky. The Cinque Terre. A stretch of Ligurian coast, in the province of La Spezia, about ten kilometers long, on which five ancient fishing villages overlook the sea. What are the Cinque Terre? Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza, Monterosso.

A landscape characterized by terraces with vineyards and dry stone walls that slope down from the top of the hills towards an uncontaminated sea through the Mediterranean scrub. A jagged cliff, between coves and small stone beaches, some reachable only by boat. Each village is characterized by traditional Ligurian houses with colored walls, tight against each other and climbing on the rock; the typical alleys, the sudden glimpses that open onto the sea; but also from specificities that make them all destinations not to be missed.

Riomaggiore, with its medieval castle and where the Via dell’Amore begins; Manarola, the spot most photographed by international travelers and loved by trendy young people; Corniglia, the village of the churches that stands out on a rocky promontory about one hundred meters high; Vernazza, the most exclusive and elegant town, with its little square frequented by celebrities; Monterosso, a privileged location for family tourism with its wonderful equipped beaches.

And the Cinque Terre are also trekking, a wide path network suitable for any type of hiker: 48 paths with more than 120 kilometers to cover at high altitude and which connect the villages to the coast with breathtaking views. Also noteworthy is the food and wine offer: wines from grapes grown on the terraces; the anchovies of Monterosso; pesto and Ligurian focaccia.

The Cinque Terre offer a wide range of accommodation facilities, for all tastes and budgets, where to stay. It is also very convenient to stay overnight in the city of La Spezia, from which you can reach the Cinque Terre by sea with our Cinque Terre Ferries and by train, the villages are all located on the La Spezia – Genoa railway line. To access the trails and use the services of the Cinque Terre National Park we recommend purchasing the Cinque Terre Card.

Cinque Terre Ferries is new shipping company that offers original excursions to reach and get to know the Cinque Terre and Portovenere.
